BACHELORS BEWARE!

Keep in mind that marriage involves big risks for a man. The great majority of divorces are initiated by women. In a divorce a woman can get half (or more) even if he is not abusive or unfaithful and she is, if there is a child and she takes his child with her she gets paid to do that till his child is eighteen, and if she denies his parental rights the authorities are already on her side. Considering all this and considering how common it is for women to lie and put on facades during courtship make a scrutiny of a woman’s appearance, conduct, morals, and character well advised.

Watch for these red flags:

·        VULGARITY/PROFANITY. If she is not decent enough to control something as simple as her speech, what about the rest of her life?

·        DISRESPECTFUL TOWARD HER FATHER/RESENTS MALE AUTHORITY. She will not respect you after you marry her.

·        A YOUNG WOMAN THAT DOES NOT GET ALONG WELL WITH OLDER WOMEN. This is a sign of immaturity. (Does she have any female friends that are older and wiser than herself, and if not, then why not? Think about it.)

·        READS ROMANCE NOVELS/WATCHES SOAP OPERAS. Soap operas and romance novels have the same effect on women that pornography has on men and fill the mind and heart with extremely unrealistic expectations.

·        READS HOROSCOPE/USES NEW AGE or OCCULT LINGO. Whether she realizes it or not, she is worshipping other gods. Also, she cannot be expected to take responsibility for her actions.

·        IMMORAL/PROMISCUOUS FEMALE FRIENDS. Generally, men choose male friends with similar interests and women choose female friends with a similar lifestyle. (Also, consider Proverbs 13:20; Amos 3:3; 1 Corinthians 15:33)

·        PARTY GIRL/CANNOT STAY AT HOME. She craves excitement and lacks stability.

·        TOO MANY MALE FRIENDS. They are looking for an opportunity to take your place. There is nothing wrong with her having conversations with other men and making small talk with male schoolmates or co-workers or brethren at church. But while both sexes are equal, they are different and forming close bonds outside of a romantic or sexual relationship can be difficult. Close relationships with other men in which she consistently discusses personal issues with them indicates that she is addicted to male attention (and not necessarily your attention).

·        SHE IS MORE INTERESTED IN THE PHONE OR SOCIAL MEDIA THAN IN YOU. She craves drama and attention, and it is a waste of time trying to change her mind.

·        MAN HATER/TESTS TO SEE IF YOU ARE MAN ENOUGH. If she complains that all the men in her life are terrible, there is a common denominator to consider. She is either still bitter over a failed relationship, or she lures men by inciting lust.

·        THINKS ALL MEN JUST WANT SEX. Notice which women usually say this. If a woman uses her body as bait and access to her private parts is all she offers, it is no surprise if she keeps attracting men that are only interested in sex.

·        SHE DRESSES IMMODESTLY. Male and female do not think and feel the same about sex, and in some ways, attention is to women what sex is to men. If a woman is sexually immoral or uses her body as bait this normally means that sex does not mean much to her except a means to get attention and get her way and she is not emotionally stable enough for a monogamous relationship.

·        HIGH BODY COUNT. The insistence that a single man seeking a wife should ignore and not be concerned about a woman’s body count or sexual sins might make sense if we were talking about a godly woman that regrets and repented of sexual sins and for a long time has been living a life of obedience to God. Otherwise, while sexual immorality is bad for both genders, and because of the differences in the ways male and female think and feel about sex, her sexual immorality (especially promiscuity) gives cause for concern that she gave her body to men without marriage because sex does not mean much to her except a means to manipulate and get attention, and she cannot be trusted to stay loyal during times of temptation or difficulty or when everything is not going her way, and the likelihood that sex is all that she will bring into a marriage.

·        INSENSITIVE TO MALE TOUCH. If it is normal for men to hug and hold her like it is not a big deal, it is because she is used to it.

·        LACKS EMOTIONAL CONTROL. Following her heart, in love with love and relationships, believes things and love just happen. Emotions and circumstances change, which means you will not likely be the only one. (Consider Proverbs 28:26)

·        HAS A CRIPPLING THIRST FOR ATTENTION.

·        NEGATIVE ATTITUDE TOWARD EVERYTHING/COMPLAINS OR CRITICIZES CONTINUALLY.

·        SHE EXPECTS YOU TO READ HER MIND.

·        SHE FOCUSES ON YOUR MISTAKES AND IGNORES HER OWN.

·        YOU FIND YOURSELF EXPLAINING THE BASIC ELEMENTS OF HUMAN RESPECT TO HER.

·        EXTREMELY CONTROLLING.

·        SHE EXPECTS TO BE TREATED LIKE ROYALTY. You should want to treat her like a queen, and you should want her to feel special and happy with you. But if she expects to always be pampered, focuses only on her needs and expectations, and has an unending list of demands, a relationship with her will be a nightmare.

·        SHE STONEWALLS YOU WHENEVER THINGS DO NOT GO HER WAY.

·        SHE IS SUDDENLY BORED WITH YOU.

·        CONSTANTLY IN TOUCH WITH HER EX IN SPITE OF HAVING NO REASON TO BE. Occasional chatting and texting might be ok, especially if she has a child with him, but constant communication with her ex is a red flag.

·        SHE IS PHYSICALLY AGGRESSIVE AND VIOLENT WHEN UPSET.

·        SHE IS UNABLE OR UNWILLING TO CALMLY AND REASONABLY DISCUSS DIFFERENCES OR CONFLICTS.

The Communist Manifesto

Pop Quiz:

Which, if any, of the ten measures of communism outlined in chapter two of the Communist Manifesto have not been characteristic of the USA for a long time?

Manifesto of the Communist Party

The Biblical Worldview

For every truth or lesson taught in Scripture there is an implied truth or lesson and Acts 17:26-27 is an example. “And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us.” (Acts 17:26-27) The word nation or nations is the rendering of the Greek word Ethnos. As in English, Hebrew and Greek words normally have more than one meaning or usage which depends on the context in which the word is used, and Ethnos basically means a multitude (men or animals) associated or living together. After the Noachian Deluge mankind divided into different nations, which naturally started as families. (Genesis 10) Then there was a religious and political movement to unite all the nations under a pagan empire as one nation over God, and God thwarted this movement by confusing language. (Genesis 11:1-9) There is an implied lesson about the importance of self-government or state sovereignty.

There are over a hundred conspiracies at work in the USA and abroad, and while they have distinct (and sometimes opposing) differences, they have in common the pagan worldview, that is, the pagan concept of man and government. The pagan concept of man and government makes man (corporate man, the state) the standard of truth and the ultimate authority, which puts it in conflict with God and those who believe that God is the standard of truth and the present ruler of the earth, and sees the individual as a mere servant of the state whose value is determined by his usefulness to the state, thus making encroachments upon God-given rights inevitable (e.g., encroachments upon the right to life, liberty and property, excessive taxation, excessive legislation, gun control, etc.). Socialism and leftism (which normally overlap) are modern versions of ancient paganism. (Ecclesiastes 1:9-10)

The Bible teaches natural depravity. Man is not a sinner because he sins, he sins because he is a sinner. If you are a parent, did you ever have to teach a child how to be bad? If man is already deeply flawed then it naturally follows that we cannot expect to find perfect solutions to social issues and maladies, just trade-offs. The pagan worldview sees man as naturally good, which naturally would mean that man (and by extension, society) is perfectible, which leads to requiring perfection and believing it is needful to correct or atone for every wrong or injustice (past, present, real, imagined, or exaggerated). Incidentally, many popular professed Christian do-gooders and social justice warriors are promoting the pagan worldview, and we do need to be more alert to this and wary of them. (Colossians 2:8)

The Christian worldview sees God as the present ruler of the earth and human government as ordained of God to protect the rights of the people and punish evildoers; in His special grace God saves sinners and in His common grace God uses human government to protect the good against evil. God is the authority that gave power to civil government, and the civil government must morally act within those perimeters. If the civil government does not act within the perimeters set by God, it is acting without proper authority. (Romans 13:1-4)

“All men are created equal” is a Bible teaching but do not neglect the word “created.” All men are created equal does not mean all men are equal; men are only equal in creation and redemption. All men share the image of God and stewardship of creation and are thus created equal, but at the same time all men are unequal in abilities, talents, social station, etc. God's design for communities, organizations, and the family is hierarchy with a balance between equality of being and functional subordination.

Rights are the freedoms required to fulfill one’s duties to God. Various rights are taught in the Bible: Right to life (Exodus 20:13; Acts 17:25), liberty (II Corinthians 3:17), property/pursuit of happiness (Exodus 20:15; Ecclesiastes 5:18; Acts 5:3-4), freedom of religion (Joshua 24:15; I Kings 18:21; Acts 5:29), freedom of speech (Matthew 28:19,20; Mark 16:15; Acts 4:20), freedom of the press (Habakkuk 2:2), freedom of assembly (Hebrews 10:25), right to keep and bear arms (Luke 22:36), etc. These rights are not spelled out, they are self-evident; the Bible makes it obvious that God wants people to have these rights.

Consider some of the effects of replacing the Christian worldview with the pagan worldview as the predominant worldview:

• The Biblical view of man as a natural born sinner is behind the constitutional system of government that does not depend upon the wisdom of mobs or give absolute power to one person and sets limits on the power of civil government and requires accountability of public officials. The republican form of government (not a reference to a political party), representative government rooted in moral law, is based on Bible precedent. (Exodus 18: 21; Deuteronomy 1:13; 16:18) The US Constitution, as written and intended, only supports democracy in the sense of rule through elected representatives and makes pure democracy unconstitutional. (Constitution of The United States of America, Article IV, Section 4) Now we have a majoritarian democracy (mob rule) representing the will of the majority that disregards the rights of the individual and entrusts charismatic personalities with unchequed power.

• Due to the sinful nature of man and the corrupting influence of power it is necessary to establish safeguards to prevent the abuse of power. According to the Bible there are three kinds of government power: judicial, legislative, and executive. (Isaiah 33:22) The US Constitution separates government power into three branches of government so that the individual is protected from the tyranny that is inevitable with a concentration of power. A legislative power was established and made the most important to protect the rights of the individual to his own life, liberty, property, and Christian self-government. The Supreme Court is to interpret laws according to the Constitution and is accountable to the legislative branch: Federal Judges do not hold lifetime appointments; they are appointed to hold the office "during good behaviour" and are subject to impeachment. What do we have now? The balance of the powers is upset by the growing predominance of the presidency, the Supreme Court's continual usurpation of the rights of the legislative branch, and the weakening of the legislative branch. The legislative branch routinely passes laws which encroach upon the right of the individual to his own life, liberty, and property as well as his right of self-government, presidential powers often bypass Congress and usurp legislative power through executive orders, and the Supreme Court often usurps legislative power.

• In the early church individual churches united for common purposes (in modern terms we would call them conventions or associations), such as evangelism, charity, and support of missions, while each individual church retained autonomy, and this is an example that States would do well to follow. To prevent the US Government from becoming a centralised despotism the US Constitution outlined a limited government in which the States retain sovereignty while the powers of the US Government are clearly defined and limited to those powers necessary for its function. The powers for each branch of government are limited and defined in the US Constitution, and any changes to the US Constitution must be ratified by a super majority of the States. What do we have now? The US Government steadily absorbs all the political life, routinely exercises powers that are not constitutionally mandated, usurps State's Rights and defrauds their sources of revenue, the rights of the individual are often sacrificed for the sake of unity and to protect the US Government against the possibility of insurrection, and the US Supreme Court often issues decrees which contradict or alter the US Constitution.

• In the discussions of the First Amendment prior to ratification the word "religion" was often used to mean a single denomination. The First Amendment prohibited the US Congress from establishing a single national denomination or ruling in religious matters through a state church ("establishment of religion"). The clause "... nor prohibiting the free exercise thereof" was meant to prevent governmental separating of Bible principles and values from the public sphere and keep basic Bible principles and values present throughout society, and for over a century-and-a-half this was the only way in which the religion clause of the First Amendment was interpreted because that is what it says. Incidentally, any system of beliefs and practices fits the dictionary definition of religion even without belief in the supernatural, including socialism and humanism, so that freedom from religion is impossible. Modern US restrictions against Christians and religious groups influencing government and government decisions, and US requirements that God, religion, and Scripture be kept out of government violate the First Amendment. Today the US Government is acting according to the socialist or leftist definition of separation of church and state: Socialism (Communism, Fascism, etc.) makes man (corporate man, the state) the standard of truth and the ultimate authority, which puts it in conflict with God and those who believe that God is the standard of truth and the present ruler of the Earth, which is why socialism and freedom of religion are incompatible.

• What is meant by "militia" in the Second Amendment? "I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people, except for a few public officials." (George Mason, in Debates in Virginia Convention on Ratification of the Constitution, Elliot, Vol. 3, June 16, 1788) When the Bill of Rights was ratified the word “militia” was understood to refer to the general population of adult males (especially in that context) and “well-regulated” means that something is calibrated correctly or able to fulfill its purpose (a militia without guns is not well-regulated); a well-regulated militia is necessary as opposed to a disorderly mob. The purpose of the Second Amendment was to prevent a police state by giving the people the ability to use guns as a last resort to resist governmental tyranny and oppression. Now gun control laws are promoted by insisting that the militia language of the Second Amendment restricts the right of an individual to bear arms.

• Unalienable rights, rights given by God, are replaced by civil rights, rights granted by government.

• The early Christians preached that Jesus Christ is the present ruler of the Earth (Acts 17:6-7), but in all too many churches God has been reduced from Sovereign to little more than a pleading Saviour. (Note that during the American War of Independence the battle cry was “No king but Jesus!”) Rather than seeing history as HIS story and recognising God as the present ruler of the earth Who intervenes in human history and ultimately controls everything, the Providential view of history, many Christians have adopted a worldly view of history, such as the Humanist, Cyclical, and Marxist views of history. (Romans 12:2; Colossians 2:8; consider Acts 17:6-7 & Ephesians 1:11) Many even believe that Satan rules the Earth; Satan rules in the hearts of unbelievers, "the wicked world system," but God is the present ruler of the Earth and nothing in the Bible ever indicates that God has ever abdicated His throne and turned rulership over to Satan. (I Chronicles 29:11-12) The Humanist worldview, which dominates US government, public school curriculums, and most modern scholarship, deifies man, does not recognise absolute principles or truths, sees Christian culture and Bible truths as old-fashioned, restrictive, and irrelevant, and means that the strongest men (or the government) dominate home, school, culture, and church. The view that Satan rules the earth sees Christians as isolated and Christian culture as a counterculture, makes Christian culture and Christian influence irrelevant and insists that everything must go from bad to worse, limits Christian influence and responsibility to soul winning and church activities, and supports and adopts the Humanist worldview. The Christian worldview sees God as the present ruler of the earth and the Holy Bible as the final authority in all areas of human existence, sees Satan as a defeated foe, sees Christian culture as leavening all areas of life and blessing mankind, and sees self-governing Christians as influencing and dominating home, school, culture, and church.

“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:13-16) Salt cleanses, purifies, preserves, and makes people thirsty, and light dispels darkness; government corruption and social maladies are signs of a lack or decline in Christian influence or an increase in exposure of corruption. Christians are supposed to be a cleansing and illuminating influence on society, but whenever a preacher reminds Christians that Christians have a duty to impact society and culture for righteousness there are always professed Christians arguing that Christians should not be doing this or be concerned about this because there is no time to accomplish anything or because this would contradict their pet theories and speculations about things they do not and cannot know. It is often difficult to convince modern Christians that God is not obligated to submit to any schedule they have set for Him.

EQUAL WORK FOR EQUAL PAY

There were feminists (or independent women or whatever you want to call them) in a factory where I worked a few decades ago that would try to initiate discussions and arguments with people about women's rights and their version of equality. On occasions when they tried this with me, I would point out that I have always believed in equal work for equal pay and that they should work like men, and for some reason they would suddenly get quiet and leave me alone.

He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother

In a public talk at a JW Convention in Macon, Georgia, in 1983 it was said that the song “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother,” sung by The Hollies, is a good description of the love taught in John 13:34-35. This bothered me for a long time, because Watchtower publications teach that John 13:35 is an identifying mark of the only true Christian religion and is characteristic of Jehovah’s Witnesses, but this was not my experience. It was my experience that non-JW relatives, schoolmates, workmates, and neighbors were often easier to get along with than Jehovah’s Witnesses. Also, I was taught that God's clean organization stands out compared to churches of Christendom, but over time I saw that, while there are good people among the Jehovah’s Witnesses, as an organization we were no better than the people and churches we condemned, we were just trained to look at the Watchtower Organization through rose coloured glasses. I left the Watchtower organization in 1985 and was born again in 1987.

HONOUR THY FATHER AND MOTHER

“Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.” (Ephesians 6:2-3)

As a child grows from childhood to adulthood the role of a parent changes from guardian and disciplinarian to counselor and mentor. What is your attitude and response towards your parents when you disagree or when they are wrong? The real test of respect is when you disagree, not when you agree.

The command to honour parents, which is in both the Old & New Testaments, has some application to small children but primarily addresses adults.

Over the years I've heard adult Christians point to faults, sins, and failings of their parents to excuse disrespect. NOBODY had perfect parents. Forgiveness is one way to honour parents. This doesn't mean you must tolerate or condone wrong or evil, it means letting them off your hook and keeping them on God's hook.

Even if they are dishonourable, this is not an exception. Think: If you're in a courtroom you must honour the judge and address him as "your honour," and this is respect for his position and has nothing to do with his character or whether you like him.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH TRYING TO FIND A MATCH VIA INTERNET

Back in 2005 an army buddy persuaded me to try internet dating, as that was how he met his wife, and he had a good marriage. The first thing that got my attention when looking over women's profiles on various websites was that it seemed that the vast majority described themselves as nice people who like to have fun without mentioning beliefs, values, expectations, etc. There were Yahoo Discussion Groups for Christian singles that said just write a description of yourself and what you are looking for, which I did. I got numerous angry and insulting comments from women that were apparently traumatized by my beliefs in Christian values, such as patriarchy, and could not just assume that my advertisements did not apply to them. (It couldn't be simpler. If a man believes in patriarchy and is looking for a submissive woman and you are a woman seeking a matriarchal or egalitarian partnership, there is no need to be hating, just recognize that he is not a match for you.) Around that time eHarmony offered a one-month free trial, which I tried. I thought my profile and answers to their questionnaire made it clear that I wanted a wife, not a husband, but they kept trying to match me with female GIs. I did meet a few nice women over the internet, but the nice ones that appeared to have similar interests and values usually lived far, far away, making it difficult to get very well acquainted.

Black Conservatives

Regardless of your ethnicity, if you have been listening to the likes of Jessie Jackson, Oprah Winfrey, and other leftists, but you will not listen to Thomas Sowell, Star Parker, Larry Elder. or other black conservatives you have been listening to the wrong people. (No, I am not saying that I always agree with them. Critical thinking is always important.)

You Can Trust the Communists (to be Communists) by Dr. Fred C. Schwarz

You Can Trust the Communists (to be Communists) by Dr. Fred C. Schwarz  is an older book but still extremely relevant. Explains the history and ideology of communism and how the communists gain power through propaganda, infiltration, and subversion. Communists (Marxists) gain power by working on causes people believe in (causes that could be noble or that merely appeal to selfishness) and thus persuade people to support them, entrust them with power, and remove protections against abuse of power. (They either invent a cause or take advantage of a cause that many are already concerned about.)

TYRANNOSAURUS REX

God Wrote Only One Bible - Jasper James Ray

REAP THE WHIRLWIND

“He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.” (Proverbs 13:24)

“Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.” (Proverbs 22:15)

“Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.” (Proverbs 22:17)

“Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.” (Proverbs 23:13-14)

“The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.” (Proverbs 29:15)

“Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.” (Isaiah 28:9)

In the 1940s so-called "experts" were teaching that it is wrong to use corporal punishment to discipline children and you should not teach your children about religion and morality until they are grown, and along with this the idea that children must have everything their parents did not have materially became increasingly common. As years and decades passed, this philosophy of spoiling and not disciplining and teaching children kept gaining popularity so that we have a large segment of the "adult" population that were undisciplined and spoiled to the point of replacing reality and critical thinking with delusions and wishful thinking and behaving like spoiled children in pursuit of utopian dreams and fantasies. Sadly, a lot of spoiled brats hold public offices and positions of influence. None of this is a recent development.

A PIG & A LAMB

“But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.” (2 Peter 2:22)

A farmer gave his favourite pig a bath so that it would look and smell clean at the county fair. Someone left a gate open and that pig headed down the road searching for adventure. A strong wind blew the pig off the road and into the ditch. In the ditch was garbage, a bad smell, and thick mud. When the pig realised where he was he began thinking to himself “this is heaven on earth, this is exactly where I want to be.” Why? Because it is a pig’s nature to wallow in mud.

A lamb strayed from the flock and wandered down the road. A strong wind blew the lamb off the road and into the ditch where there was garbage, a bad smell, and thick mud. When the lamb realised where he was he began struggling to get out of the ditch, and when he saw that he couldn’t get out he began crying out for the shepherd. Why? Because it is not a sheep’s nature to wallow in mud.

Before you insist that you would take your fill of sin or give up living a Christian life if you did not believe that merely committing sin means the loss of salvation, stop, and think about what this implies about you. “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” (John 10:27) “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (II Corinthians 5:17) “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.” (Titus 2:11-12) “And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.” (Hebrews 12:5-11) "They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us." (1 John 2:19) “And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.” (1 John 3:3)

JOHN WAYNE WAS NOT A WHITE SUPREMACIST OR A DRAFT DODGER

Many who point out what John Wayne said about white supremacy not only ignore the context but just quote him as saying "I believe in white supremacy ..." and ignore the rest of the sentence as well as the context. What is also usually ignored is the context of the time in which he said it. For example, the Civil Rights Act of 1964 did not give non-whites equal rights as racial equality was already the law of the land; the Civil Rights Act of 1964 made discrimination against whites through egalitarianism and racial quotas and preferential treatment of blacks and other minorities inevitable. Also, the Voting Rights Act of 1965 did not give non-whites the right to vote in the South as they already had the right to vote in every State for almost a century; it secured the vote for illiterates who would have been ineligible to vote prior to 1965 even if they had been white. (Prior to 1965 the state of Alabama and other Southern States required basic literacy and a basic knowledge of the US Constitution and state government to be eligible to vote. If black people were not allowed to vote in Alabama and other Southern States prior to the Voting Rights Act of 1965, how do you explain the black counties and black cities in Alabama and other Southern States with black public officials and all-black electorates prior to 1965? While universal suffrage may sound like a noble cause, this inevitably changes a republic into a majoritarian democracy, mob rule, that gives unchequed government power to charismatic personalities.) These are just two examples. I am not promoting racism; I am simply asking you to look at the statement in context and in view of the perspective from which it was said.

John Wayne was married three times, each time to Hispanic women. White Supremacists do not marry Hispanics.

John Wayne was not a draft dodger; he served in the Office of Strategic Services during World War II.

Big Bang Theory

I sometimes wonder if the people that made The Big Bang Theory TV show meant for it to belittle evolutionists, because occasionally the main characters try to disprove creationism or demean belief in God by bringing up arguments that were disproved by evolutionists years and decades ago. (The theory of evolution sounds like genuine science until you ask pointed questions and look for hard evidence that doesn't have to be accepted by faith.)

I like how the show demonstrates the folly of equating education with intelligence. Over the years I have known people like Sheldon Cooper that had a higher education and a good memory, could read a book and remember most of it, or listen to a professor give a lecture and remember it well, but attempting intelligent discussion involving logic and critical thinking would quickly reveal that the lights are on but nobody is home.

If someone like Sheldon Cooper joined the armed forces he might be an ideal recruit and excel in his training unit because he has a memory for detail and does not think. On the other hand, his education would likely get him a leadership position in which he would likely foul things up and get people needlessly hurt and killed while pointing a finger of blame and believing that nothing is ever his fault.

DOES HEBREWS 12:14-15 SAY SALVATION CAN BE LOST?

Both believers and unbelievers will see the Lord after this life. (Philippians 2:9-10) Hebrews 12:14 is dealing with fellowship with God and what is needed so that unbelievers can see the Lord in Christians; while there may be an application to salvation this does not necessarily prove the argument about loss of salvation. Grace is unmerited or undeserved favour and involves more than just salvation; failing of the Grace of God (Hebrews 12:15) can apply to a false professor losing what he never had or a born-again believer losing God’s favour on his life. (Consider Romans 5:1-2; Galatians 3:1-3; 5:4; Hebrews 12:5-10; etc.)

WHY MANY UNMARRIED CHRISTIAN MEN DO NOT APPROACH WOMEN IN CHURCH

I can think of several reasons that a young unmarried Christian man might decide against trying to meet women in church (been there, done that), and these stand out in my mind:

·        A lot of unmarried Christian women express offense and label a man as a creep if approached by a friendly and polite man to whom they are not attracted, and he cannot read minds.

·        If a man has already approached one woman in church, he may be reluctant to move on to the next women because of the possibility that, for unknown or silly reasons, this might result in hurt feelings or gossip.

·        Some men may feel beaten down after repeatedly hearing that men are more sinful than women and women tend to be holier than men, which is not true.

·        Many unmarried Christian men have observed that a lot of other Christian men married good Christian women that later divorced them for unscriptural reasons and were able to take most of the husband’s income and property along with the children. The great majority of divorces are initiated by women, even divorces among Christians, and usually for unscriptural reasons. In a divorce a woman can get half (or more) even if he is not abusive or unfaithful and she is, if there is a child and she takes his child with her she gets paid to do that till his child is eighteen, and if she denies his parental rights the authorities are already on her side.

·        Most unmarried church women prefer wicked men, and this can make a search for female Christian companionship in church appear to be a wasted effort. If you do not believe this, just stand back (or sit back) and observe (without comment) how unmarried church women in general behave around Christian gentlemen and note how the same women behave around unbelievers and professed believers of bad character.

·        In Christian circles and media some wrong teachings or messages, which easily make men reluctant about dating, are often conveyed as truths or Bible standards, such as: Casual dating is wrong (because it means casual sex, casual intimacy, or casual love), women’s hearts must be guarded by men, and any romantic relationship must be moving toward marriage. Let me share some reality: Casual dating (a form of courtship) is good and necessary to get acquainted with and be friends with someone (while respecting boundaries) and learn more about someone. Women can guard their own heart and should ask God to empower them in this area. Yes, you should have a distinct goal in mind of eventually marrying a person, but not necessarily this person who is sitting across the table from you that you barely know and possibly need to know better before making the commitment.

·        Christian parents that object to an unmarried Christian gentleman's interest in their daughter due to a tradition, opinion, preference, or taboo are more likely to overreact, jump to extreme conclusions, and spread malicious gossip about him than to discuss their issue with him personally and peacefully, and he cannot read minds.

WITNESSIING TO JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES & THEIR CHILDREN

When witnessing to Jehovah’s Witnesses, whether at your door or other situations, remember that the goal is to win hearts and minds, not arguments. If you are hostile or argumentative with a Jehovah's Witness you will only convince him that he is right.

Also, keep in mind that even if their children are not Jehovah's Witnesses and are not convinced that Jehovah's Witnesses have the only true Christian religion and that the Watchtower Society is God's channel of truth, the children of Jehovah’s Witnesses are normally under tremendous emotional pressure to conform, and Jehovah’s Witnesses normally require their children to identify themselves as Jehovah's Witnesses, teach Watchtower teachings, and sell Watchtower literature or distribute free tracts. If you come across a child or youth like that and you are hostile or argumentative this may help convince him that Jehovah’s Witnesses are right and that he should join the cult.

Be friendly and show that you care about them as you share your testimony and the gospel and thought-provoking questions, and, while you should not be expecting to convert anyone overnight, you can expect them to think seriously about what you said for a long time, even if they initially shrug it off.
